Why Blog?

Recently, an individual asked me a question concerning search engine strategies for political campaigns. I felt that I should share my answer with more than just this individual. While I am no a big blogger, I realized that the majority of people doing campaign websites have little experience in politics. At the lower levels, they are doing this for a friend who is running for a down ballot office. It could be for State Senator, Assembly Member, Legislative Representative, City Council, or special district board of directors. Many of these campaigns have little or no money. They are using various Internet services because they are free.

I am here to help you to use them more effectively.

Right now, I am assisting a Congressional candidate who has little chance of winning. He is a Democrat in an overwhelmingly Republican district. I am doing this for free because he is a nice guy who does not realize that they recruited him to run to be a sacrificial lamb. He is just a name on the ballot to keep his opponent from running unopposed.

My major professional client, a political consulting and lobby firm, thinks that I am crazy for wasting my time. While the smart money bets on Goliath, it is fun to back David.
